You may realise I was supposed to read/review a different book before this. I shall now be reading the missing book as book 20 and all will be explained in that review. Boy Under Water had been sitting on my Amazon list for quite a while and was another Waterstones haul book. It just seemed…

11. The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali J Rauf
This is another book I picked up in my Waterstones haul. It is a children’s book and I found it to be a very compelling book to read. It touches upon a topic that I think a lot of us ignore or aren’t willing to find out about but is told through the innocent young…
10. Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas
I put off reading this book for so long because I didn’t want to admit that the story was coming to an end. This series filled a hole within me and has come to mean so much to me. When I finally came to read it I was filled with sadness that it was coming…
09. The Chalk Pit by Elly Griffiths
This book hit me right in the feels. I didn’t know whether I was coming or going. This book took me on a roller coaster of intrigue, haunting murder and unexpected surprise. The synopsis is as follows: Boiled human bones have been found in Norwich’s web of underground tunnels. When forensic archaeologist Dr Ruth Galloway…
08. The Woman in Blue by Elly Griffiths
Book eight in the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths. It is not the book cover that draws me into these books but the words written within that captivate my curiosity and sate my love for crime dramas. The synopsis of this book is as follows: When Ruth’s friend Cathbad sees a vision of the…
07. The Ghost Fields by Elly Griffiths
This is the seventh book in the Ruth Galloway series and the story was wonderful to read and Ruth Galloway proved once more how engaging she is as a character and how interesting the world she lives in is. The synopsis for this is as follows: When DCI Harry Nelson calls Ruth Galloway in to…
06. The Outcast Dead by Elly Griffiths
I have loved this series since I discovered it in late 2017. Elly Griffiths has become one of my favourite authors to read and I have loved reading every instalment of Dr Ruth Galloway and watching as her character develops. Here is the synopsis for the book: Ruth has excavated a body from the grounds…
05. The Sky Song by Abi Elphinstone
This book pinged up on Amazon because I had read books similar to it but I actually bought in in my first Waterstones haul of this year. It was on a table marked ‘ Buy One Buy One Half Price’, you can see now why I went a little crazy… The synopsis for this book…
04. The Girl, the Cat & the Navigator by Matilda Woods
Again, this is another one from my Waterstones haul. This cover was whimsical and attractive. It spoke of adventure and mystery and a yearning to belong. This is another children’s book (don’t worry, I don’t just review children’s books), but in my Waterstones haul I mostly bought children’s and young adult books. The synopsis of…
03. The Clockwork Crow by Catherine Fisher
This is one of the books I got in my Waterstones haul. My first trip to Waterstones I got 12 books and in my second I got 8. So really, the moral of the story is that I shouldn’t be left unsupervised in a bookstore. This was another book where the cover grabbed me first,…
