Ramble #10

This week flew by in the blink of an eye! For some reason I’m listening to the ‘Something Rotten’ soundtrack, despite never seeing the musical. It’s kind of catchy. Perfectly upbeat for this sunny day.

So, I actually managed to do myself proud, reading 4.5 books this week!

  • The Defense by Steve Cavanagh – ★★★★★
  • Dark House by Helen Phifer – ★★★★★
  • Dying Breath by Helen Phifer – ★★★★★
  • Last Light by Helen Phifer – ★★★★★
  • The Plea by Steve Cavanagh – 1/2 way through

I’m probably too giving with my 5 stars, but I can’t help it if I’ve read a good book that doesn’t have – in my opinion – and bad points.

You’ll know by now that I got myself the complete set of 22 books of Enid Blyton’s ‘The Famous Five’.

I also managed to get 27 books for £40 on The Works, but these books aren’t for me. They’re for various people’s birthdays and Christmas presents. The Works currently have a lot of books on their site for £2, check it out if you’re living in the UK. I actually went on to get some more stretch canvases but ended up getting a head start on presents. I like to be overly organised!

Outside of books, it’s been a FANTASTIC week for me.

I recently got a new boss at work and have gone from being under appreciated, under valued and bored, to being appreciated, valued and given leadership in projects. It’s so great! In 2019, I almost gave up with work, so this is GREAT. I’m currently leading two new projects with support and supporting others in their projects. Also, I am getting to help with Mental Health Awareness, which is a topic close to my heart and I can’t wait to get started.

I saw my bestie for dinner this week – and to exchange Christmas Presents – which was lovely. Full of funny stories and hysterical laughing.

This weekend, my Mum and I are going to a Flea Market event, which should be a lot of fun. Then, in the evening, I’m taking my parents to see Matthew Bourne’s Red Shoes Ballet, which I’m so excited for and I think I’m seeing my Granny on the Sunday to celebrate her birthday – but that isn’t set in stone and I might end up spending all day snuggled up and reading books.

Before I know it it’s going to be my birthday! Time is flying so fast!

QOTD – What are your weekend plans?
